Target has always been and continues to be one of my favorite stores. Consider me an unofficial Target groupie if you will, however, lately I have become offended each and every time I enter their doors...
Here's my beef...
After a nice little trot around target and filling my cart with all the regular goodies (which on a side note will undoubtedly add up to over $100 because I can't seem to ever leave Target without spending $100+) I arrive at the cash register and like a good little patriot prepare to pay my bill.
Now, as you all know Target always attempts to make last minute sales at the register (gum, candy, soda, magazines, etc), which i again undoubtedly fall for. However, target unlike some stores always has discounted movie racks as well. Basically it's a shelf of the most "unpopular" movies that Target is desperately trying to get off of their shelves. This is all well and good...well, sort of.
Now, here in lies my problem. I am continually... over-and-over again... insulted by the movies that Target has tagged as "bargain buys." Which by the way we all know is just a nice way of saying, "these movies suck!" These "bargain buys" or rather "these are crappy movies" offers are always...without question...some of my all time favorite movies!
I.E: Center Stage, Pocahontas, Milo & Otis, Camp Nowhere, Ladybugs, The Cutting Edge, Newsies, Monsters, Inc., ...and yes the biggest insult of all...ANNIE!
Yes, it is true. I spotted Annie, the movie in which I spent my entire childhood emulating, with a neon orange $9.99 special sticker on it! It was enough to wilt my spirit for days. In fact, it ticked me off so bad that I wanted to buy each and every one of the Annie DVDs because I did not want them to be humiliated like that in public!
So, in protest to this RUDE and UNCALLED FOR judgement by Target on some of my favorite movies I am forever refusing to even glance at the stack of "unpopular" DVDs that are being offered. I do not need to be reminded while I buy my deodorant that the general public believes I have bad taste in movies. I get enough criticism from my boyfriend...I don't need it from Target as well!
And for the record...Annie is awesome. Period.

If you had any idea how much time, thought, and effort went into picking the movies to be displayed on the Movie Graveyard endcaps, you'd feel somewhat avenged. Those are HIGHLY COVETED checklane spots! They have dollar volumes to meet!
I hate my life.
